I’m Ryan Heywood, a paramedic since 2021. I’m currently seconded to the London Health and Justice Learning hub as the learning support, starting with the team in 2025.
Alongside this, I continue to work as a paramedic in a busy HM prison, delivering emergency and urgent care in a complex and demanding environment. This experience enables me to contribute practical, front-line insight to support education and development from within the Hub.
I have a vested interest in simulation-based, experiential learning particularly around airway management and acute presentations.
Incidents within the prison setting present valuable opportunities for learning and service improvement. My work is continually shaped through reflective practice, shared learning, and collaboration with colleagues and I am committed to supporting clinicians across London sites to share experiences and enhance the quality of patient care
